Lauren specializes in weight management, sports nutrition, and Foodtraining families, seeing clients with a wide range of goals and backgrounds. She received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University where she graduated cum laude with honors in Sociology, and completed her Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition at New York University.

Prior to opening Foodtrainers, Lauren worked at St Luke’s-Roosevelt obesity research unit and was a nutritionist at Equinox fitness clubs. Lauren conducts frequent nutrition lectures and teleconferences on topics ranging from "Running and Weight" to "Organics 101". She has written for and been quoted in articles for many websites, magazines and television programs including: Allure, In Style, Cooking Light, Essence, Harper’s Bazaar, Hamptons, Self, Fitness, WebMD, The New York Post, Time Out New York Kids, Parents, Working Mother, NY Family, John Stewart’s Daily Show, ABC’s Eyewitness News, CBS Evening News, The Early Show, Fox News, Good Morning America and Martha Stewart.

Having two school-age boys of her own, Lauren is most interested in the importance of nutrition education, healthy meal options at school, and counseling families to form healthy habits for their children. Since healthy eating habits start at home, Lauren works with families to identify strategies to introduce new foods, managing varying food preferences and ensuring each family member is meeting their nutrient and calorie needs. Often family Foodtraining involves a refrigerator makeover session and recipe ideas.

Lauren is an avid runner, tennis player and skier. Her favorite fruits are blackberries and pears, favorite vegetable (so hard to pick!) is beets and favorite splurge is brie. Lauren lives in New York City with her husband Marc and sons, Myles and Weston.
